Lisa P. Jackson

Lisa Perez Jackson is an American chemical engineer who served as the Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency from 2009 to 2013. In May 2013, it was announced that Jackson would be joining Apple Inc. as their environmental director.

Lisa Jackson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was adopted weeks after her birth. She grew up in Pontchartrain Park, a predominantly AfricanAmerican middleclass neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1979, Jackson graduated as valedictorian from Saint Marys Dominican High School in New Orleans. She received a scholarship from the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering amp Science due to her strong performance in mathematics. This allowed her to gain early exposure to a college environment.
