Lori R. Saldaa is an American politician from San Diego, California. She is a former member of the California State Assembly from the 76th Assembly district . She served from 2004 to 2010, when term limits prevented her from seeking reelection. She served as a Democrat, but changed her party affiliation to no preference in 2014. She was a candidate in the 2012 election for the newly redrawn Californias 52nd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives but lost in the primary to Scott Peters. Currently she is running for Mayor of San Diego .
Lori Saldaa was born 1958 in San Diego, the third of four daughters born to Virginia and Frank Saldaa. Frank Saldaa served in the Marine Corps and was a reporter for the San Diego Evening Tribune. Lori Saldaa grew up in the Clairemont area of San Diego, where she currently resides. After graduation from Madison High School, she attended San Diego State University , earning both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters degree in Education.
