Martin James Guptill is a New Zealand cricketer and plays for the New Zealand national cricket team as an opening batsman. He is the first cricketer from New Zealand and the fifth in the world to score a double century in a One Day International match. He currently holds the record of highest individual score in World Cup and the second highest score in One Day Internationals of 237 runs. His wife is radio host and Sky Sports sidelines reporter Laura McGoldrick, while his sisterinlaw, Leanne McGoldrick is Martins agent, and a family friend of Martin Crowe, as Crowe became a mentor to Guptill and Ross Taylor. He attended Kelston Primary and Kelston Boys before transferring to Avondale College.
