Nammina Bantu is a 1960 Telugu Drama film directed by Adurthi Subba Rao. Upon release the film received critical acclaim. The film was screened at the San Sebastin International Film Festival. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. The film made into Tamil as Paattaaliyin Vetri.
Nageswara Rao and Savitri were selected to portray the lead pair. S. V. Rangarao was first offered the landlords role, but Rangarao preferred the character of downtrodden farmer Chandraiahs character as he found it more challenging. Dagubati Ramanaidu who went on to become a popular producer in Telugu cinema worked as one of the partners in the film. The film was also happened to be his debut film as an actor. He acted as the body double for Nageswara Rao driving the bullock cart in long shot scenes besides donning the district collectors role.The soundtrack was composed by Saluri Rajeswara Rao and Master Venu and lyrics for all songs were written by Kosaraju Raghavaiah for Telugu version and Udumalai Narayana Kavi for Tamil version. After composing three songs, chengu chenguna ganthulu veyyandi, thela thela vaarenu levandamma and pogarubothu potlagithara, Saluri left the project after having differences with lyricist Udumalai Narayana Kavi. Master Venu was replaced as composer who recorded the three songs and composed the rest. ........
