Nicol%C3%A1s de Pi%C3%A9rola
Jos Nicols Baltasar Fernndez de Pirola y Villena January 5, 1839 June 23, 1913 was a Peruvian politician, the Finance Minister and twice President of the Republic of Peru, from 1879 to 1881 and 1895 to 1899.
Nicols de Pirola was born and educated in the southern Peruvian city of Arequipa. He moved to Lima to study theology at the Seminario de Santo Toribio, and later obtained his law degree from the Faculty of Law. His parents died in 1857.
