Noin seitsemn veljest Approximately Seven Brothers also stylised as NoinVeljest is a 1968 comedy directed by Jukka Virtanen and which was written and produced by Spede Pasanen. The film is a loose parody of the Robin Hood story and also stars a take on the inventor Leonardo da Vinci. The name of the film is a take on Seitsemn veljest Seven Brothers the groundbreaking novel by Finnish author Aleksis Kivi. Filming occurred mostly around Suomenlinna with Olavinlinna used for many wideshots as a standin for the castle. The films cast is composed of Pasanens stock actors including Simo Salminen, Juhani Kumpulainen, Jukka Virtanen, Ere Kokkonen and Leo Jokela. It also featured the first major performance by VesaMatti Loiri in Spedes movies. Loiri previously acted as a child and had just graduated from acting college. Loiri and Spede would later go on to create the popular character Uuno Turhapuro
