Otto Chowanetz
Otto Chowanetz was a Feldwebel in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a posthumous recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Chowanetz went missing in action, presumed killed in action, onMarch 1943.
