P%C3%A9ter Boross
Pter Boross is a Hungarian politician, former member of the Hungarian Democratic Forum , who served as Prime Minister of Hungary from December 1993 to July 1994. He assumed the position upon the death of his predecessor, Jzsef Antall, and held the office until his rightwing coalition was defeated in election by the Hungarian Socialist Party , which was led by his successor Gyula Horn. Prior to his premiership, Boross functioned as Minister of Civilian Intelligence Services and Minister of the Interior . He was also a Member of Parliament from 1994 to 1998 and from 2006 to 2009.
Pter Boross was born in Nagybajom onAugust 1928 as the son of forest engineer Gyrgy Boross , who participated in the First World War from 1915 to 1918. Returning home, he became a member of the Order of Vitz. His mother, Lujza Horvth came from a smallholder farming family, a distant branch of the extinct noble Perneszi family in Somogy County. Boross has a younger brother, Lszl , a teacher. The Boross children raised in their birthplace and jvrfalva, where their wealthy stepgrandmother lived. They finishied sixgrade elementary school in jvrfalva. In 1938, Boross started his military secondary studies at Hunyadi Mtys Honvd Secondary School and Institution in Kszeg, then attended the Zrnyi Mikls Honvd Corps Cadet School in Pcs since 1942. As a result of the Soviet invasion during the closing period of the Second World War, the entire cadet school moved to Sopron at the end of 1944.
