Rowthiram English Fury, from Sanskrit Raudra, etymologically from Rudra is a 2011 Indian Tamillanguage action film written and directed by newcomer Gokul. Produced by R. B. Choudary, the film stars his son Jiiva and Shriya Saran in lead roles with Jayaprakash and Ganesh Acharya appearing in supporting roles. It released onAugust 2011. It is dubbed into Telugu as Roudram and in Hindi as Nirbhay The Fighter. The film opened to mixed reviews because of its weak storyline. However Jeeva and Shriya received positive response from the critics and praises for their actings. After a few days after the release the ending of the film had changed according to the response to the film by the audience and it had been changed to a positive ending.

The climax is when the father of Priya and the father of Shiva convince Shiva to force him out of helping others and ruining his life and concealing it with danger for him and Priya. Priyas father then receives a message that Gowri was arrested however he escaped and the police shot him down, to that Priyas father responded that he will come and see him in the hospital. After hearing that Shiva sees a problem involving a girl and some rowdies and tells to stop the car, his fatherinlaw refuses so Shiva jumps out of the car to save the girls life and then a few words are said in response to this and the film ends. This is a contrast of the official ending as this is more of a positive way rather than Priya dying. The films shooting was held in various places in Tamil Nadu. A song was shot at France. The team had canned some scenes in the temple town Villianur. Reportedly some portions of this film was reshot after Jiivas previous venture Ko became a huge success. Shriya Saran, who was signed up to play Jiivas pair in Rowthiram, was busy with Don Seenu and Chikku Bukku and hence could not allot dates for Rowthiram. The team, however, completed two schedules without the lead actress and waited patiently for her dates. Their patience seemed to have paid off now with Shriya finally joining the Rowthiram team. Sources say that nearly half the film has been shot without the lead actress. Shriya won her role in the film by chance. The actress was at the shooting spot when the first shot was on and debut director Gokul instantly felt that she was the one who could carry off the role to perfection. After a discussion with producer RB Choudhury and Jiiva, Gokul signed up Shriya to play Jiivas pair in Rowthiram. The director has said that Shriya was wearing a saree and looked traditional which was the main reason for signing her up. The film was completed in June 2011 after two and a half years in the making. ........
