Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds

Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds is a 1989 postapocalyptic Australian film directed by Alex Proyas. It was his first feature.

Influential Australian movie critic David Stratton praised the film as having a special vision with brilliant production design but said the film frustrates because of its lethargy and stiltedness. Strattons opinion of the music score was that it was uninspiring but Rolling Stone magazine called the soundtrack recording an album of stunning instrumental beauty and exquisite soundscapes and awarded itstars.In 1988 the film was nominated for two Australian Film Institute AFI Awards for Production Design Sean Callinan and Peter Miller and for Costume Design Mathu Anderson and Angela Tonks. It won the Special Prize at the 1990 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. ........
