The Pied Piper of Cleveland

The Pied Piper of Cleveland A Day in the Life of a Famous Disc Jockey is an American musical documentary film produced in the fall of 1955 documenting the career of disc jockey Bill Randle. Arthur Cohen directed the film, which was produced by Bill Randle himself.

According to music historian Jim Dawson, Randle, before his death, sold the rights to the film to PolyGram, although it has been reported that Universal Studios has the negatives of the film in its vaults. As the publisher of the Memoir of original Comet, Marshall Lytle, the Memoir Still Rockin Around The Clock, the film was definitely made as Marshall was there with Bill Haley and performed with Pat Boone, The Four Lads, Elvis and others. The film about 50 min? was shown one time. There was many 50? years later a reunion concert with the people who attended the filming. According to Marshall, one unsubstantiated rumor is that Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis controlling manager, bought the film and destroyed it as Elvis was starting out and not the headliner. But that may be untrue about Col. Parker. You can see stills from the film online. ........
